Man dies after car crashes into driveway wall in Pickering

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 58-year-old motorist was killed on the region’s roads this morning.
A silver Honda Accord collided with the wall of a driveway on Westgate, in Pickering, North Yorkshire, at about 10am.
The driver, a local man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which happened close to the Sun Inn.
The road was closed as an investigation into the collision got under way, and to allow the vehicle to be recovered. It reopened at 1.50pm.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch with information.
Traffic Constable Ian Barratt, of Malton roads policing group, said: “We are trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision and I am urging anyone with information to come forward.
“If you saw the incident itself or the vehicle prior to the collision, please contact the police with information.”
